Academy Principal

St. John’s Jesuit High School & Academy is seeking a faith-filled, student-centered, and mission-driven educational leader to serve as Academy Principal for grades 6–8 beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year. Under the guidance of the President, the Academy Principal serves as the educational, spiritual, and managerial leader of the Academy and plays a vital role in advancing the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.    

The successful candidate will foster a culture of academic excellence, cura personalis, leadership, accountability, and Ignatian values while ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment tailored developmentally to young men. The Academy Principal will work collaboratively with school leadership, faculty, staff, students, and families to strengthen the Academy’s academic programs, student formation, and overall school culture. The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader who values collaboration, strong communication, innovation in boys’ education, and the formation of the whole person in the Jesuit tradition. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Provide educational, spiritual, and operational leadership for the Academy (grades 6–8)
Implement and uphold the mission and values of Catholic and Jesuit education through Ignatian pedagogy
Oversee curriculum development, instructional excellence, faculty supervision, and student academic progress
Support and evaluate faculty and staff while fostering meaningful professional growth and development
Promote a positive school culture rooted in respect, empathy, accountability, safety, and cura personalis
Oversee student discipline and behavioral expectations in collaboration with school leadership
Manage daily school operations including scheduling, safety procedures, and school programming
Build strong partnerships with parents, faculty, alumni, and community stakeholders
Collaborate with school leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and policy development

Qualified candidates will have or be able to obtain the following: 
Active practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Previous teaching experience required; Catholic school experience preferred
Prior school leadership experience such as Assistant Principal or similar role preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to Jesuit education and the formation of young men
Ability to obtain or possess a valid Ohio principal/administrator license within 5 years of employment
Demonstrated ability to lead collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and inspire excellence in others
An authentic desire to elevate athletics at St. John’s Jesuit High School & Academy and to embrace and advance its mission

Compensation:

Part-Time Math Tutor

St. John’s Jesuit High School & Academy is seeking a Part-Time Math Tutor to join our team of dedicated educators supporting the academic growth and success of students in grades 6-12. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping students become confident, independent learners and is looking for a flexible schedule.  As a Part-Time Math tutor, candidates will work approximately 2-3 days a week for 15-20 hours a week during the school year.

The Math tutor provides individualized and small group support, assists with assignment completion and test preparation, reinforces key classroom concepts, and teaches study and organizational strategies. This position plays a vital role in supplementing classroom instruction and helping students thrive in a supportive and faith-based environment.

Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Provide academic tutoring tailored to individual student Math needs
Conduct check-ins focused on assignments, assessments, and skill-building
Collaborate with faculty, counselors, and intervention specialists to monitor progress
Foster a positive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles
Model values consistent with the Catholic and Jesuit mission of St. John’s Jesuit

Successful candidates will have:

Advanced Math skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Completion of Diocesan Virtus training and successful BCI/FBI background check required
Candidates must act in a way to aid in the formation of Men for Others through the Graduate at Graduation; loving, open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, and committed to doing justice. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
