St. John’s Jesuit is pleased to announce that Omar Asad and Daniel Schuman have been named Class of 2023 valedictorians and Tre’Quan Green (pictured) has been named Class of 2023 salutatorian.
Omar Asad is a Toledo resident and attended Timberstone Junior High in Sylvania. He ran for Titan cross country and is currently running for track and field. Omar is a member of the National Honors Society, the Spanish National Honors Society, and the Magis Society. He served on the committee for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Student of the Year Campaign as a junior and a senior. He has been active as a member of the Christian Service Core Team, serving on the mission trip to Appalachia, and delivering meals for his local mosque. An Ambassador for SJJ, Omar has been involved with the World as One Program through Model UN and the JSN Jesuit Exchange Program. He will attend Georgetown University with plans to major in pre-medicine.
Daniel Schuman is very involved in the arts at St. John’s, participating in the concert and jazz bands, choir, spring musicals, and serving as president of the Fine Arts Club. He is a member of National Honors Society, Magis Society, and organized the “Titans for Teal” social justice sexual assault and harassment awareness week. He has been a student writer for Titan Topics as a junior and a senior. Daniel participates in Esports, track and field, as an anchor and weatherman for TV-4, and has lead several Kairos retreats. He has developed strong leadership through his involvement in the SJJ For the Culture club and the 2023 Summit For Justice. A resident of Toledo and graduate of Bowling Green Middle School, he has volunteered at Brownbag Food Pantry in Bowling Green and at Helping Hands Soup Kitchen. Daniel plans to attend the University of Cincinnati and major in architecture.
Tre’Quan Green is a resident of Toledo and attended Martin Luther King Academy for Boys before attending St. John’s Jesuit Academy and High School. A 20/20 Jesuit Scholar, Tre’Quan is a member of the SJJ For the Culture Club and the Christian Service Core Team. He volunteers as a Big Brother serves the community through the Toledo Labre Program. Tre’Quan is a three-time varsity football player, one-year varsity basketball and a two-time varsity track and field athlete. He has served as an Ambassador throughout his high school career and participated in the SJJ internship program as a senior. Tre`Quan will continue to play football at Grand Valley State University where he plans to major in finance.
